FULL CALLOUT
When snow accumulation exceeds two (2) inches, and the probability for a continued six (6) hours or more of snowfall is 70%-100%, a full callout of personnel and equipment is normally required. In addition to the twenty-one (21) salting/plowing trucks, up to sixteen (16) pickup trucks with plows can be added to aid plowing operations. The cul-de-sac, public parking lot, and Towne Square private contractors would be activated to service. The initial snow clearing operation for route trucks, which includes plowing all streets from curb to curb one time and making an initial pass in each cul-de-sac and court to open it for vehicular traffic, takes approximately twelve (12) hours to perform. The total cleanup effort, (which may require a second plowing) includes final salting and complete snow removal from cul-de-sacs and courts may take up to eighteen (18) hours after the storm has ended. If weather conditions require that only a salting operation need be performed, this task can be performed on all streets, courts, and cul-de-sacs, in approximately six (6) hours, depending on the time of day and the conditions encountered. If the storm dictates that a complete plowing and cleanup effort is required, Public Works will attempt to perform this task within twelve (12) hours after the end of the storm on all primary and secondary routes. Courts and cul-de-sacs may take up to eighteen (18) hours to completely clear after the storm has ended. It should be noted that plowing occurs on a continuing basis regardless of how long the storm lasts. Therefore, all residents can expect snow removal crews to be working in their neighborhood at least once every twelve (12) hours during normal storm conditions.
PARTIAL CALLOUT - Salting
OPERATION THREE (3) – Fourteen Truck Salting
This operation could be implemented whenever the forecast calls for a 60%-90% chance of Yellow/Red Condition of snowfall accumulation up to two inches and the snow may have already begun to fall. Trucks would be dispatched to nine (9) Secondary Routes and four (4) Primary Routes. This operation can normally be completed within six (6) hours after implementation. Once again, as with each of these operations, the implementation and level of service is dictated by the unique developments of the storm. In addition to the fourteen (14) salt truck drivers, there would be two (2) sidewalk personnel, one (1) yardman, and two (2) supervisors.PARTIAL CALLOUT - Salting
OPERATION TWO (2) - Six Truck Salting
This operation might be implemented when only a light dusting of snow is expected and the temperature is rising. The Village is divided into five (5) sections with the primary routes being salted first, then secondary routes. Predicted snowfall accumulation would be less than one (1) inch when this operation is considered. Snowfall may or may not have begun by the time this operation is implemented. In addition to the six (6) drivers, there would be two (2) sidewalk personnel, one (1) yardman, and two (2) supervisors.PARTIAL CALLOUT - Monitoring
